| Introduction | Hi, Mrs Nora de Silva here. My pupils and their parents call me Mrs D. This started during the time I was teaching in the Gifted Education Programme in Raffles Institution in 1989-94. My pupils were always in a hurry to ask me questions. "Mrs de Silva" did not trip so easily off their tongues. They were likely to forget their questions! So Mrs D I became. I have taught General Paper and English Literature in Victoria Junior College (1988-89)and English Language and Literature in English in the Gifted Education Programme from 1989 until 1995. I have set up 2 English language enrichment centres and developed programmes for both. I have written over a thousand lessons for English Language and Literature and other study skills. I enjoy figuring out what makes pupils tick and what helps them to "get it". |
