Introduction From my early brush with mortality, at the age of eighteen, to my more recent adventures with fighting thyroid cancer and turning thirty: I've learned that it doesn't really matter what happens or why it happens -- it's what you DO with it that defines who you are! The car accident I had, almost twelve years ago was one of the BEST things that has ever happened to me: It taught me who I am, what I can live with, and what I can live without. In December 2008, I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. My thirtieth year, just passed, was one of the toughest I have lived through. Post-treatment, I will be cured... but Cancer will always be a part of my life!! I am a survivor and Cancer-- despite how we feel about it-- has been a blessing in disguise for me. It helped me create the possibility of FREEDOM, GROWTH, and HARMONY. I am free to live my life for who I am and all that I discover from the adventures I am having. Thank you Cancer, for giving me another chance to BE everything I can be and more than I ever thought possible!
