| Introduction | LIKES: chai, cooking, dogs, rollercoasters, organic food, warm weather, kickboxing, random acts of anarchy, fruit, displays of affection, sexual tension, amature photography, emoticons, hilarity, new experiences, skirts, cold beverages consumed via straw, adrenaline rushes, eye contact, my iBook, running around outside, cuddling, nonverbal communication, riddles, (creating and reading) imagery, making art, Mitch Hedberg, Dmitri Martin. DISLIKES: hypocrisy, TV (ESPECIALLY reality TV), superficiality, rudeness, ignorance, apathy, failures to communicate, slow walkers (especially when they're in front of me), bad grammar in formal situations (i.e., it doesn't matter on instant messenger, but it does on menus, books, etc. I can only be so anal), gory/scary movies, the use of "k" in place of "ok" (it seems rude, and it only saves the effort of typing one additional letter...is it worth it?), being taken for granted |
| Interests | Dance, capoeira, sparkling conversation, babysitting, reading, taking long walks, singing in the car/shower, board games, Wikipedia-ing, expanding my vocabulary, the occasional naked protest |
| Favorite movies | The Life Aquatic, Eternal Sunshine, Garden State, 40 Year Old Virgin, Wedding Crashers, Donnie Darko, Team America, Anchorman, Fear & Loathing in LAs Vegas, Punch-Drunk Love, Wayne's World (1 & 2), Adaptation, American Beauty, Dead Poets Society, Raising Victor Vargas, Disney movies (generally the older ones, esp. Alice in Wonderland), etc. In general, I like comedies and/or movies with good/inventive cinematography |
| Favorite music | "Classical Gas," "Ballroom Blitz," RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, Bedouin Soundclash, Seu Jorge, Quango Mystic Groove, Radiohead, Cake, Modest Mouse, Bjork, The Fugees, Dispatch, Damien Marley, Ben Harper, Sublime, Jack Johnson, Pink Floyd, Theo, so much more, anything good to dance to, etc. |
| Favorite books | Anything by David Sedaris, a handful by Michael Crichton, Memoirs of Cleopatra, Catcher in the Rye!, The Memoirs of a Geisha (WAY better than the movie, as always), Promiscuities, Angels and Demons, My Year of Meats, Life of Pi, the Earth's Children series (a bit tedious but interesting, esp. for those interested in anthropology), Days of War/Nights of Love, etc. Recommendations are ever so welcome. =) |
