Introduction Born '42, Washington DC,raised in Silver Spring MD. Graduated Blair HS '59; Attended BYU, Provo, UT, 1959-60; LDS mission 1961-63, Brazil, learned Portuguese, guitar, proselyted, singing missionary, radio & tv; BYU 1964-68, sang in choir, opera, performed in Asia, Europe, Summers '65 &'67, Graduated BA'67,MA'75,English BYU; Sang with The Lettermen, 1969-70, Capitol Recording Artists, three albums, #1 hit, "Hurt So Bad"; Met Omaha folk singer Colleen Fitzsimmons in Amarillo, TX, married '69 while I was singing at NYC's Plaza Hotel; Started family life '70 in Studio City CA with son Quinn; moved to DC area, sang with Colleen in clubs; had three more kids, Megan, Shane and Erin, while working as ad/psa/jingle writer/singer for major production house, Falls Church, VA; moved to Hawaii,'76, to work at BYU-H in Student Activities, lived there ten years, had four more kids, Shannon, Caitilin, Sean and Conn; served as an LDS Bishop while BYU-H PR director, English teacher; MA, American Studies, UH/Manoa,'82; moved to Orem,UT,'86, worked in sales, teaching, editing; Colleen got MA, Special Ed, still teaching; I pursue writing, music,family history, grampahood and the right questions.
