| Introduction | Hello, my name is Deborah Montgomerie. I was born in the UK but currently live on Whidbey Island, near Seattle, in Washington, USA. I have been involved in the arts one way or another for most of my life. Several years ago I discovered the joy of painting plant life. I became interested in portraying the plant alone. And the more I looked, I found that there were many others who also had the same passion. I had found my tribe! After finding the great works of modern artists like Billy Showell I was hooked! In 2012 I applied to do a distance learning course with the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) in the UK and after graduating in March of 2015 I am still entranced by the botanical world. |
