| Introduction | Becca Klaver is the author of the poetry collection LA Liminal (Kore Press) and several chapbooks, including Nonstop Pop (Bloof Books) and Merrily, Merrily (Lame House Press). Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, she attended the University of Southern California (BA, English–Creative Writing, with minors in Spanish and Gender Studies and two years of screenwriting coursework), Columbia College Chicago (MFA, Creative Writing–Poetry), and Rutgers University (PhD, Literatures in English). She recently completed her dissertation, “Include Everything: Contemporary American Poetry and the Feminist Everyday,” which demonstrates how women poets across post-1945 U.S. poetry movements—Diane di Prima, Sonia Sanchez, Lyn Hejinian, Bernadette Mayer, and Alice Notley—shared an investment in inventing new poetic forms that valorized and critiqued the conditions of their everyday lives. Becca co-founded the feminist poetry press Switchback Books in Chicago in 2006 and served as an editor for six years, and is currently co-editing the ebook anthology Electric Gurlesque (Saturnalia, 2016). She is a full-time lecturer in the English Department at Rutgers University and lives in Brooklyn. |
