| Introduction | Consider me as a fervent information seeker who is drawn to the absorbing narratives of bygone eras in the wide mosaics of history, as an individual whose interest in history, particularly medieval Indian history and ancient Indian history, goes beyond academic curiosity and a person who has been on a quest for self-discovery. The central theme of my intellectual inquiry is the appeal of medieval Indian history, with its saga of loyalty and betrayals, profanity and purity, iconolatry and iconoclasm, invasions and insularisms and several other complexities of its dynasties and empires and of the waxing and waning of these political entities, the cultural exchanges and many other dynamics that shaped Indian subcontinent today: the past that constructed our present. Also, I enjoy immersing myself in a world of colours, flavours and landscapes that are as diverse as they are captivating. Therefore, I intend to write on Indian culture, food and its flora and fauna as well. |
