| Introduction | I am a student coming to the end of my second year at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, where I am studying Social Anthropology. I was brought up in Kent, England. I have participated in a number of voluntary projects both in the UK and abroad, concerning issues such as human rights, animal rights, poverty, global warming and immigration. I have been interested in the Tibetan culture for as long as I can remember - it has always held a fascination for me, and I am greatly looking forward to experiencing this first hand and really getting 'under the skin' of village life in rural areas, whilst at the same time contributing to the noble goals of the TVP. I am particularly interested in the herbal medicine and traditional healing techniques TVP supports, as well as the sustainable issues taught. |
