| Introduction | I’m a mom of two (boastful adjective here) boys. I am an independent editor and technical/grant writer, and I remotely manage a number of peer-reviewed scientific journals from my office in SoCal. My husband is a respiratory therapist and among other things wants the house dusted on a regular basis, for obvious respiratory reasons. With the amount of time only being 24 hrs in a day we rarely see each other but still sneeze together when something is moved from a shelf. Having kids has revealed dimensions I never knew existed. Quoting John Edward, "You have children, you get re-wired." Whether I’m viewing life through stress or joy, I now see it very differently with more purpose and intent. I think I've learned more from my children in the past several kid-years (including how to read music and understand sign language) than in the entire decade before I had my kids. Amazing, it is, how quickly everything changes. And then changes. And then changes again, but somehow remains familiar and precious. Yes. I said precious. What's it to ya?! |
