Introduction	Deadly Vision was an award winner at the SEAK National Medical Fiction Writing Competition, and will be published by Penmore Press in early 2025. I have studied the craft of thriller writing with best-sellers Tess Gerritsen, Michael Palmer, and Robert Dugoni. Deadly Vision has been reviewed by two professional editors; who have hailed it as "the next Michael Crichton", and "reads like prime-era Robin Cook or Michael Palmer, updated for 2024." Like my protagonist, I am a surgeon, and a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. I am also a passionate writer, with fiction and nonfiction credits including short stories and articles in national and regional magazines. My first book on health and wellness was published by New Harbinger Press in 2007 and has since had three editions and been translated into several languages. Additionally, I've been honored to win the 2008 Telly Award for best Public Access television program, and been named by Newsweek Magazine as one of the Nation's top 150 physicians in my field. I also own and operate a music/book review site and record label, Ripple Music.
