| Introduction | Having completed his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the National University of Ireland, Galway, Brian worked as a supervising engineer on the site investigation of a major main drainage project in Ireland. He then returned to Galway to undertake research on 'Numerical and Analytical Modelling of Pile Group Settlement Performance' for his PhD. In December 2011 he was awarded the University of California EAP scholarship to study at the University of California, Berkeley from August 2012 to May 2013 where he will continue his research on pile groups under the supervision of Professor Juan Pestana. Brian has received over €85,000 in scholarship and fellowship awards. |
