| Introduction | Born and raised in Miami by Nicaraguan parents, I grew up in a very Latin environment. Businesess small and large were run and frequented by Hispanics. It always seemed obvious to me that Hispanics were an important market segment. Imagine my shock when I moved to Charlottesville and started college at the University of Virginia. I learned then that Miami is by no means a "typical" city in the United States because Hispanics have traditionally been a minority segment in most other places. Traditionally...now they are a growing and influential consumer base that companies can't afford to ignore. This belief is starting to shape my career and was something I thought about a lot the two years I spent getting my MBA at Kellogg. I now work in an internal consulting group for a major financial service company. My goal is to use this blog to solidify my expertise in this segment as I build a career helping companies engage the US Hispanic market. |
