IntroductionInspired by my fascination with the evolution of the mind and its biological underpinnings, I started this blog on that intersection between evolution and brain science. Here I hope to explore how natural selection has shaped cognitive traits, the evolutionary roots of emotions in various animal species and the brains adaptability in modern environments.
InterestsObsessed with #NaturalSelection, I blog about survival hacks (mostly for finches), debunking design myths, and why 'fitness' isn't about gym selfies. Expect random musings on branching family trees, evolutionary memes and why humans are just fancy apes with Wi-Fi.
Favorite movies"Planet of the Apes" (1968) - lets talk about apes overthrowing humans, now that's a great thought experiment! "Evolution" (2001) - I admit there is some absurd science but again a fun thought experiment about rapidly evolving aliens. "2002: A space Odyssey" (1968)- from apes discovering tools to the evolution of Artificial Intelligence, this film has taken my writings on the origin of species to a cosmic scale!!
Favorite music"It's evolution, Baby! by Pearl Jam; "Shake your tail feather" by Ray Charles "Apeman" by The Kinks "Born to be wild" by Steppenwolf
Favorite books"WTF, Evolution?!" by Mara Grunbaum; "Elephants on Acid" by Alex Boese; "The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists" by Gideon Defoe.
