| Introduction | The English in Umm Batin program is a collaboration between the medical students of the Medical School for International Health, the community of Umm Batin, and most importantly, the wonderful students of ORT Umm Batin High School. This blog, titled and designed by the students, is intended to serve as an outlet to share their ideas and experiences with English speakers all over the world.
As we have spent time volunteering in Umm Batin, teaching English through activities and conversation, we have in turn learned about the unique culture, history and delicious cuisine of the students and their families, as traditionally Bedouin Arabs living in Israel. We believe that the kind, witty, thoughtful dispositions of these students will bless readers everywhere, and we hope that you enjoy reading their posts. ~ The MSIH medical students who are privileged to have the opportunity to spend time with the lovely Umm Batin students |
