| Introduction | I am a special education teacher specializing in working with preschoolers, have 2 kids of my own and am a farmer at heart. I grew up in the beautiful Blue Mountains of Northeastern Oregon, left to seek independence, then returned with my own brood to recapture my soul. I am so fortunate to be living on a large farm in a gorgeous region. We rent the only house on the place and my kids are able to raise their own animals and work on the farm. We have been here for four years now and feel very much a part of the family that owns the farm. Words cannot thank them enough for the opportunities they have provided. The house we live in was built in 1865, a brick 2-story which has been added on to over the years, but the original structures are still intact and include a brick summer kitchen and brick quarrantine room. Visible on the outside of the second story of the house are gunports facing the Umatilla river and meadows. The barn was also built around the same time and contains hand-forged square nails. I hope to be able to share this sweet place with others through my photographs and blog. |
