| Introduction | I use the term Self-sufficient-ish simply because i really don't want to be self-sufficient. The idea of getting up in the morning to milk the cow and keeping our own animals for meat,milling our own flour does not appeal to me- it seems like a huge amount of time and effort is dedicated to living this way, and not everyone has the space or oppitunity to do this.On the other hand Semi self sufficiency or being self sufficient-ish does appeal to me. I mindset of "i grow things because i enjoy it" over "i grow things because i have too", i want to be able to grow fresh fruit and vegies from my family, collecting lovely fresh eggs from the chooks, cooking fresh chemical and preservative free food, and just living a simple and relaxed life style- that to me is self sufficient-ish. This Blog with follow my progress over time. Begining with the planting and designing of our self sufficient-ish garden. |
