| Introduction | I enjoy travel—perhaps, a strange juxtaposition to having lived in the same house for 49 years. Lee Smith, my husband of six years, and I have put thousands of miles on our motorhome’s odometer since our marriage in February, 2002. A four-month trip to Alaska is a highlight in our travels together, but we also have wonderful memories—and photos—of three trips to Mexico, two winters in Arizona, and three summers in the Northwest. Branson, Missouri, remains one of my favorite destinations. In my past life, I was a kindergarten and music teacher. Motherhood—and Grandmotherhood—have been the joys of my life. I raised two daughters and one son, and doted on my granddaughter’s preschool life. My son died almost ten years ago, but I am blessed that my daughters and their husbands, and my granddaughter all live in Heber Springs. Presently, I am a freelance writer, contributing regularly to several regional and national magazines. I have three books to my credit. I also teach seminars on Workamping, creative writing, and caring for an elderly parent. |
