| Introduction | I live in Minneapolis with my wife Elizabeth, an author and journalist, and three children. I went to Orono schools and attended Beloit College, where I double majored in music and economics/ management. I earned my teaching license at the University of Minnesota. My first job in education was in Salzburg, Austria, then at Crosswinds Arts and Science Magnet school. Later, I earned my master’s degree and administrative license at the University of Minnesota. I started with Minneapolis Public Schools in 2010 as the Arts Coordinator at Ramsey (now Justice Page). I was chosen to attend the MPS Principal’s Academy and after one year I became the Assistant Principal focusing on grades 5-8 at Ramsey. Our entire program moved to the Folwell building in 2012. I worked closely with staff and families to make the move to Folwell as smooth as possible. I am a collaborative leader and believe that my relationship with students, teachers, and parents is critical. I will be spending a great deal of time listening to input from students, teachers and parents about their Lake Harriet experience. |
