IntroductionI earned a B.A. in English Language and Literature from University of Michigan in 2003 and an M.A. in English and a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies from University of Florida in 2006. I went ABD for a Ph.D. in English at University of Arizona, where I studied mostly fiction and American Indian Studies, in 2011; I never finished because I had to write my divorce instead of my dissertation and then ran out of time. I am also interested in resistance by way of social movements, popular culture, film, literature, gender studies, Black cultural studies, queer temporalities, and representation.

Why does the taste of pennies remind you of losing a tooth?

Because blood tastes like metal. I vaguely remember someone once explaining why, but I don't remember the particulars.
