| Introduction | Grew up, in the Washington DC area, where a love of literature, music, movies, chess and sports provided the backdrop for future enterprises. left there when i was twenty hitchhiking to California, where i stayed for the next ten years. segueing from Tai Chi to Yogananda's course on Kriya yoga, and practicing and playing gigs in and around the southern California area, i returned to DC where i put the juke joint jokers together. we thought of it as a hip variety band, playing everything from James brown to Miles Davis and Albert King and Little Feat. after a brief hiatus and the subsequent withdrawal from gigging, returned with the Jokers, this time concentrating strictly on the Blues and its myriad styles. left in 2002 for Florida where i played for the next seven years. recorded a CD under the title of "Traffic Jam" soundbytes and info which can be accessed from jukejointjokers.com. returned to DC six months ago. feel free to correspond critique and comment, your input, i assure you, i will find invaluable. |
