I worked as a reporter at the University of Texas- Brownsville, Austin Community College as a Student assistant to the Journalism Department, The State News as a freelance reporter at Michigan State University, a student researcher for the Julian Samora Research Institute at MSU and focused on Migrant Farm workers. I was recognized for outstanding works in journalism by the MSU School of Journalism in 2002 & 2003, in 2004 I became the Editor for The Lookout newspaper at Lansing Community College and I was a reporter and assistant editor to Mi Gente Magazine that focuses on the Latino community in Michigan. I founded Valleywood Magazine in March 2007. Since then I have been printing the monthly newspaper in full color and showcasing local businesses through advertisements and writing news stories about the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Today I also do public relations and help market small business. I love being involved in the community and helping others succeed. I have been told I'm a leader of action and I really think I am because I know how to get things done.
