Introduction I am a studio potter and ceramic artist living in Minneapolis, MN. My work is focused on making unique handmade functional pots that bring new ideals of beauty to the world of everyday objects. I make every pot hoping that it will have something new to reveal about itself with each use. I'd like my pots to encourage lively physical and visual interactions with their users. Currently I am exploring the relationship between form and surface decoration. I gather my inspiration from a variety of sources including my education in home furnishings and textile design, historic italian majolica, traditional japanese pottery (especially tokoname tea ware), scandinavian design, abstract expressionism, field paintings, the fluxus and neo-dada painting schools, american folk art, and contemporary crafts.
