| Introduction | Born & raised by a single mother on the south side of Mpls, MN, JSL has always had music in his blood. Forming even from small things, such as his family growing up next-door to Prince (The two families even had to share electricity from time to time.), to having 9 aunts & uncles around that always seemed to have an instrument in hand, this is how a style is born. Composing music on several instruments since the age of 10 & then later, performing at every venue possible with numerous musical projects, JSL had gained quite a perspective on the music business/scene. JSL broke free from prior musical endeavors in the year 2000 & went on to pursue his solo career with a fresh start. Inspired by a lack of drive from his musical peers, JSL is determined to make a future for his growing family with these unmistakable talents. As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, to this day, JSL continues to push the limits of creativity, all the while remaining incredibly diverse & innovative. JSL also works as owner of [301STUDIOS] (an independent electronic/hip-hop record label) & is currently writing the full length follow-up to his debut E.P. "just." entitled "Score". |
