| Introduction | I am a painter who believes that drawing is critical to painting and that drawing can be learned. I have undergraduate and advanced degrees in fine arts from Hunter College, CUNY, where I had the privilege of studying with Richard Claude Ziemann and Julius Goldstein but my experience of drawing goes much farther back--to the time when I could hold a crayon in my hand. Drawing is essential to my art and to my life. |

| Interests | I am interested in drawing as it is and has been practiced throughout the world and across time. This includes preparatory drawings--for paintings, buildings, objects, etc.--and finished drawings--pieces that are an end in themselves. I am also interested in drawings by children and by people who are untaught or who are otherwise outside traditional artistic circles. |
