Introduction	As a kid, I loved telling people I wasn't born in one of the states. "You were born in another country?!" other kids would gasp. "No, I was born in the U.S." I'd grin to myself. I was born in Washington, D.C. I lived in Maryland, then California, then Maryland, then California. San Jose is where I grew up the longest, so that's my hometown as far as I'm concerned. I'm the oldest child with four younger brothers. After enjoying high school immensely thanks to musical theater, a great choir (Zion!) and amazing friends, I left for BYU to study Elementary Education. Almost half-way through I met my penpal Josh, who turned into my husband (poof!) after a long (for BYU) engagment, which you can read about on our blog. After graduating, I started teaching 3rd grade. After three years of teaching, our son was born, and now I get to be a stay-at-home mom.
