IntroductionI love the water and everything about it. From 2000 to 2005 I served in the Coast Guard. For some reason I thought it would be more fun than it was. Nowadays I am one of those pesky kayakers that keeps the Coast Guard rescue stations on their toes. During my time with the Coast Guard I 'rescued' dozens more kayakers than PWC brats. Mainly because kayaks are cheap and everybody has one. While in the CG I picked up sailing and was fortunate enough to crew on several boats in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico(OK, I never left Corpus Christi Bay). Eventually, I bought a little Thistle for myself. This area doesn't offer much sailing, so at the end of August I sold it. My kayak, on the other hand, rarely gets a chance to dry off. I am trying to convince my wife we need a larger boat and we should move back to the coast. So far she isn't going for it.
