| Introduction | I'm a 27 year old who works in early childhood education. I'm 4'10.5" (hence the pocket reference-- I'm always being told that I'm short enough to fit into someone's pocket). I have always loved being able to get outdoors, but after losing nearly 40 pounds since 2007, I find that I have more energy and more initiative to go out on the weekends and explore the world around me. Whether hiking alone or with friends, nothing makes me feel more alive. Because my days are spent with lots of noise and children, the quiet relaxation that hiking offers me has been both fantastic as a hobby and a get-away from hectic life. While most of my hiking so far has been in the Missouri area, I was lucky enough to do a little bit while I studied abroad in Austria, and would love nothing more than to travel again. Future goal: Appalachian Trail (in the very distant future) |
