| Introduction | The group was formed in response to a proposal from DRD Roads Service to change the status of Queen Street car park from 'free' to 'pay & display'. This particular car park is availed of by workers from local offices, and by others employed in the town's retail sector. If adopted, the average worker would be required to pay £700 per annum in parking charges. This is unacceptable, and EWPG is leading the fight against this proposal. In order to succeed we need as many people as possible to get involved in our campaign. A passive attitude only plays into the hands of Roads Service, and Queen Street alone is unlikely to satisfy either their avarice, or that of NCP. Our group is firmly of the opinion that the future of free car parking on the island of Enniskillen is under threat. Please lend us your support. |
