| Introduction | We are a 50/60ish couple from south-central Arizona who are embarking on a new phase of our lives. Dean recently retired from a 30-year career as an electrical engineer for a large defense contractor. During that time he worked almost exclusive on designing and building of spacecraft for the Global Positioning System (GPS). Valerie is an accomplished genealogist and owner of two home-based businesses related to quilting. We are proud parents of two children. We live on acreage outside Phoenix and enjoy our “rural” lifestyle. We are avid gardeners growing approximately 350 tomato plants each year along with assorted other garden vegetables. We are both transplants (he from Kansas and she from Montana) but have both learned to love the Southwest and would not consider living anywhere else. We have a 33’ NorthLand RV and love to explore the country - preferring to boondock in the forest and deserts instead of using RV parks. We take several short 1-2 weeks trips throughout the year with a longer 6-8 week trip during the summer. We are also Geocachers and love to take the Jeep out to explore the Arizona backcountry. |
