| Introduction | Ytasha is author of the critically acclaimed books Post Black: How a New Generation Redefines African American Identity (Lawrence Hill Books, January 2010) as well as the sci fi series Rayla 2212. She's producing and directing several projects with her new company YLW Productions. Ytasha edited the anthology Beats Rhymes and Life: What We Love and Hate About Hip Hop with Kenji Jasper. She also directed and produced the award-winning films "The Engagement" and "Love Shorts." An editor for NV Magazine, her work has appeared in numerous publications including Upscale, VIBE, Essence and The Chicago Tribune, and The Chicago Defender. |
