| Introduction | Appointed by the Trustees of the Court Leet of Northleach in 2004. There are approximately 200 Town Criers in the United Kingdom, mostly male, about 20 female. The role is historical, cultural and highly theatrical. My full time occupation is entertainment: I am a Spoken Word Artist - which includes story, comedy and performance poetry. Everything from ghost stories to epic legends, plus your actual stand-up (I have to stand up otherwise the poor b*gg*rs at the back can't see me...) and snippets of verse.
