| Introduction | I am a middle-aged woman with kids, bonus-kids & grandkids. Widowed & joyously remarried, most posts have something to do with one of these two states. Or both of them. Because that is my life. When I was widowed, no one close to me was widowed so no one truly understood. I didn't understand! I was incapacitated! I didn't think so at the time, but I was. I needed to understand what I was feeling, confirm that I was not crazy! I found a blog that was full of women who had been there. I came to better understand grief, its longevity & the value of shared stories. Now I share mine. My journey & yours may be similar, but they are not the same! My emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual self, my relationship with my late husband, my lifestyle, my stage in life, are all different from yours, but there are many commonalities. Unfortunately, they are not often publicly discussed. Nor are the joys and trials of remarriage. They should be! Walk with me as I talk about all the feels, grow in grace, and learn who that stranger in the mirror is. Sometimes it will be fun or funny, sometimes sad or painful. Because that's just the way life is! |
