| Introduction | This is a mantis shrimp (a smasher). Mantis shrimps have a long lineage dating back to the late Cambarian period 400 million years ago. This arthropod is among the most complex and ancient of organisms to bestride the warm earth. With eyes that can see in polarized light and raptorial appendages which strike at speeds over 80km/h, it is a truly remarkable creature. I like animals, as you may have deduced, and I enjoy the visual arts as well. I like acrylic painting and drawing (the most convenient of all), and have used 3DStudioMax, flash and photoshop before although these are not my preferred mediums. My pen name is "a Student". But what can I say about school? The stress levels are directly proportional to the age of the student. But I do appreciate how important it is in deciding our future careers and lives, and how it prevents us from idling at home and most importantly of all, makes us more aware of the workings of this world. |
