IntroductionI have a bachelor's in Anthropology, and am waiting to see if I get into grad school. In the mean time, I read a lot, write a lot, and garden as much as I can. I am 5th generation Floridian, and love being outside. My family camps, hikes, and sails. Nature balances me. being outside, whether in my garden, on the water, or in the woods, reminds me of humanity's place in the universe. I am regularly struck my the simplicity of this and the profoundity. I see poetry in leaves of grass, and hear Whitman in every mockingbird.
InterestsAnthropology, Gardening, Biology, Botany, Literature, History, Florida History
Favorite moviesRaise the Red Lantern, Blade Runner, City of Lost Children, Run Lola Run, Ferris Beuller's Day Off, Heathers, The 13th Warrior, Serenity, Amalie, Curse of the Golden Flower, To Live, Angelheart,
Favorite musicI love music that is done with skill, genius, and a touch of madness. That can be found in all styles. I especially love Leonard Cohen, Yes, Jann Arden, William Topley, Wolfsheim, Depeche Mode, and Laura Love, but I'm not above getting down with some funk or banging my head. And I'm southern enough to love me some Southern Rock.
Favorite booksI love books. I am always reading, and tried to sneak in a second minor, one in Lit, though I didn't quite have enough classes to make it. I love 100 Years of Solitude, Leaves of Grass, Dracula, Don Quixote, and Tess of the d'Urbervilles, but I grew up on Science Fiction, and think that Tolkein is one of the most brilliant voices of his age.
