| Introduction | "The Steele Drum''? Credit for the name of this blog goes to two sources: my family (hey, it's our name) and Mark Gray, host of "The Sports Groove'' radio show weeknights on WOL-AM in Washington. During my days as a columnist at the Baltimore Sun, my Thursday-night segment with him was dubbed "The Charm City Wire,'' as it was a B'more update on the week. When my Sun tenure ended in April of '09, a new name was needed. Between the traditional African way of relaying news and information and the play on my last name ... a new segment was born. And now, a new blog is christened. |
