| Introduction | The Do More Challenge started as I was trying to find a way to simply DO MORE with my life while raising my children in suburban America. I spent my teenage years as a missionary kid in Central America and West Africa and saw the true need of this world first hand. The faces and images I saw during that time of my life are constantly on my mind. Images of poverty stricken villages without running water, faces of countless orphans in crowded orphanages, haunting eyes without enough food or hope. After you have seen the reality of the need in the world, finding ways to make a difference is something you strive for. In 2010 I celebrated another birthday, another occasion to receive gifts I didn’t need. That day I decided to turn my future birthdays into ways to bring my friends together and instead of giving gifts to me, give to those whose basic needs aren’t meant on a daily basis. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and following my family and I on our quest to make a difference in many small ways, both locally and globally.
