Introduction Kevin is a lawyer that has been focused on the legal and policy issues associated with the collection, use, storage, and distribution of location and other types of geoinformation since 2006. These issues cut across legal disciplines (privacy, licensing, intellectual property rights, liability, national security, open data) and technology platforms (UAVs, satellites,smart phones, wearables, internet of things, smart cities, intelligent transportation systems). He is also the founder the Executive Director of the Centre for Spatial Law and Policy, He writes and speaks extensively around the the world on spatial law and technology. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Open Geospatial Consortium and the National Geospatial Advisory Committee. Prior to attending law school, Kevin served as a satellite imagery analyst. In that capacity he helped to develop imagery collection strategies to monitor arms control agreements. He also served as the special assistant to the U.S. government official responsible for developing the intelligence community's satellite imagery collection and exploitation requirements.
