| Introduction | Misogyny literally means "hatred of women", though everyday manifestations range from pathological aversion to subtle disdain--viewing women as inferiors to be silenced and dominated, their bodies objectified as exploitable or dangerous--a threat to manhood. Misogyny also infects women--their attitudes toward themselves and each other. I'm tired of going about my day being assaulted by misogyny in its many forms. The world's oldest prejudice is alive and multiplying. Misogyny hurts women and girls. It's a blind consciousness, a false construct, a lie. Think I'll call it out. |
