About me

GenderFemale
OccupationRetired Medical Assistant
LocationBakersfield, CA, United States
IntroductionI am 48 years old and have been retired from my career in the medical field, as a medical assistant, for almost 3 years. I am married to a wonderful man, it will be 13 years in Febuary 2009. We have a loving and still growing relationship even after all these years! It gets better and better! Between the two of us we have 2 children from previous marriages. We have an awsome granddaughter, she is going to be 11 years old this January! I am sober, will be 13 years in April, that is a big deal for this personality. Recovery from Alcohol and all mind altering chemicals is a priority for me today. I today, because of being sober, try to be a better being then I was previous to my sobriety. It is a daily practice with meetings, talking with my sober friends, exercise ( if I am not healthy of body and mind I get out there) and practice buddahism, meditation and devotional reading to build me up so I dont break others down.
InterestsFamily, Sobriety, meditation, hanging out with my girlfriends in AA, walking, exercising, searching for the best recipes, cooking the recipes, my dogs, taking trips in our 5th wheel trailer, the list goes on and on!!
Favorite moviesI love all kinds of movies. Action packed movies, Will Smith movies. Romance movies, heartfelt movies, old time favorite: Terms of endearment (Still cry when I see it) Scarry movies, not so much anymore, but my favorite old time scarry is Halloween. Old westerns with Clint Eastwood, and newer westerns with Kurt Russell in Tombstone (great movie).
Favorite musicMusic that helps me clean house and workout! 70's, Madonna, Aerosmith, Bad Company, Pink Floyd! 70's Rock! I love the Beatles all their music, especially John Lennons. I listen to alternative, some rap, and then I have my celtic music. Alicia Keys is great. Pretty universal when it comes to music.
Favorite booksBooks on spirituality. I havent read a good fiction since my days of reading Robin cook, good medical fictions and cop romance stuff. Long time ago.
