| Introduction | Birds do it/ Bees do it/ Even educated fleas do it/ Let's do it/ Let's fall in love. My point in starting this blog is to explore my many interests and experiences. It's fair to say that few are as interesting to me, or have given rise to as many great experiences as the late great Cole Porter. This lyric from "Let's Do It" elicits warm and wonderful memories of a past life I'll never see again except in my heart. More about me? I am a crabby, mostly down to earth but occasionally erudite, highly opinionated Midwestern personality who loves the blessings brought to her by those who smith words. Mr. Porter is high on that list as is Mr. Hammerstein, Mr. Mercer, Mr. Hart, and Mr. Loesser. And as a wordsmith in my own right, I am here, citing Mr. Meredith Wilson, to tell you that I, like a bassoon will be having my big, fat say! |
