| Interests | I am interested in global social evolution. It's time for humanity to make a huge leap in consciousness toward a more humane, liberating, creative, equitable and inspiring existence. Heterogeneity is sacred, and, we need to find a global common ground so that we can begin to save ourselves, our cultures, and this planet. No person on earth should be the victim of war, be homeless or lack access to water, basic health care or education. All of us in "developed" countries need to learn to live with less and create meaningful existences beyond status. This means fundamentally changing ourselves and our systems. We need to change our tax system and we need to fundamentally change our national and global economy so that our GDP is not measured by how quickly we can destroy and consume the planet's natural resources. We need to learn how to see. This means letting go of culturally imposed ideas of beauty. It also means stopping - really stopping - and being able to experience moments of grace that take your breath away and make you realize how short our time is, how beautiful this planet is, how possible it is to do better, and how worth it it is to work toward a sane and good world. Beyond our grievances, our egos, our fears and our greed is something exquisitely beautiful that links all of us to each other and to everything. Dogma-filled religion fails us when it fails to see this fundamental fact of life. We are interdependent. The earth is perfect and it doesn't need us. We need to learn how to live with our local and global ecosystems with integrity and harmony. We need to do it now. Finally, we need to forgive each other and we need to learn to live in a deeper sense of beauty, compassion, and love. We CAN do better than what we've been doing, and we absolutely must. All life, and our individual and collective spirits depend on it. Now is the time for each of us, for all of us, to evolve. One by one and all together. |
