My blogs
| Introduction | I'm a 72-year-old retired business journalist who has had a lifelong interest in outdoor activities. I have been riding bikes since I was a child growing up in San Diego, where I was also an avid surfer. I went on my first self-supported bike tour in 2011, and have since ridden more than 10,500 miles on pavement and 4,000 miles over dirt and gravel. In 2022, I hiked the Camino Frances route across Spain to Santiago. In 2023, I hiked across Spain again, this time on a linkup of the Caminos del Norte and Primitivo. I also have been rock climbing for more than 20 years and was an American Mountain Guides Association-certified rock-climbing instructor for REI Outdoor School for six years. I have always enjoyed playing outdoors and hope this blog encourages others to get outside, too. |
