Tony Blair - the Musical
My blogs
| Introduction | "Tony Blair - the Musical" is a new show premiering at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe. A funny and controversial romp through the last ten years of British politics, it combines hard-hitting satire with ballads lifted straight from the lips of Blair himself, from his uplifting "Not a day for soundbites" to his career-ending "Party's over", alongside full-blown chorus numbers such as "Throwing the Jowell in", "Oh! what a lovely war against terrorism" and the Terrorist Countermeasures song. Io Theatre Company's latest production promises to be an experience every bit as funny, gripping and important as Prime Minister's Question Time... just with better music. |
