| Introduction | Russ Hoyle is the author of Going to War (St. Martin's Press, Thomas Dunne Books, 2008, 526 pages), a comprehensive study of the 18-month run-up to the Iraq war, and The Niger Affair: The Investigation That Won't Go Away, the preface to Joseph Wilson's The Politics of Truth (Carroll & Graf, 2005). Hoyle is a former senior editor at the New York Daily News, Time, and The New Republic. He was a 2009 visiting lecturer on the Iraq war at Trinity College in Connecticut and has taught at the University of Hartford Presidents' College since 2013. Hoyle was embedded with U.S. forces in Afghanistan in 2012 and travelled to Iran in 2014. He has written on Iraq and Afghanistan for The Daily Beast and The Nation Online and lectured on those wars as well as Iran, Central Asia, and the U.S. military. |
