IntroductionI'm 4 years old and started having seizures when I was 2 weeks. The Dr's didn't detect my seizures (Sz) until I was 13 weeks old. To control my Sz, I've tried many medications: Phenobarbital, Keppra, Zonegran, Lamictal, Vigabitrin, Diastat, Ativan, Klonopin, Celontin, Tegrotol, Clobazam, Depakote & now Vimpat. I've had lots of therapies: cranial sacral, physical, occupational, speech, rolfing, hippotherapy and swimming. Plus, I've seen a naturopath, homeopath and various other doctors. I had infantile spasms(IS) and tried ACTH (steroid injections). My IS resolved after I took vigabitrin; I was 6 months. I've been on the Ketogenic Diet since I was 8 months. When I started the diet my seizures were 50+ seizures/day I now have <3/day. I have a hard time verbally communicating and I work real hard to build my strength so that I may one day sit alone without falling over and hold up my head with ease. I am legally blind with something called cortical vision impairment but I can still see lights and images. My parents support me every step of the way and my Mommy writes about me in this blog to help others better understand me and my condition. Thank you for reading!
