| Introduction | I was born in Elkins, WV and grew up near Riverton, WV in a small holler named Monkeytown. Throughout my life I've had many experiences, from life on the farm, to life on the mountain, to surviving a devastating flood, to private school in Virginia (I don't recommend it). I prefer to live and travel within West Virginia and Appalachia, because that's where I feel at home and around family. I currently live in Morgantown, WV and work at West Virginia University, where I am completing my second Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. My first is in Sociology. I have a Bachelor's in English and Journalism - and I've had more jobs in my life than I can remember. It's been a long road from the holler, and I've learned alot about being who I am. I hope you find my blog interesting - and I hope I do a good job representing my people. |

| Favorite Music | I have a varied interest. I listen to songs separately, so everything from Mama Cass to TuPac to Patty Loveless to Rihanna... and so on. |
| Favorite Books | Anything written about Appalachia and West Virginia, particularly ghost and monster stories. I'm also into classics, like Frankenstein, Dracula, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and the ghost stories of Sheridan Le Fanu. |
