| Introduction | In no order I love football, March Madness, the Masters, the British Open, a glass of red wine, dogs, the Southwest, Lee's Ferry AZ, Tucson, clear dark night skies, freedom and independence, friends, big hugs, and blue highways. I believe in the strength of Eleanor Roosevelt, the prose of Willa Cather, the voice of Barbara Jordan, the mind of Abigail Adams, the simplicity of Beatrix Potter, the grace and speed of Wilma Rudolph, the art of Georgia O'Keeffe and Mary Cassatt, the bravery of Sojourner Truth and Rosa Parks, the intellect of Marie Curie, the hope of Cinderella and Snow White, the social conscience of Jane Addams, the romance of Jane Austen, the inspiration of Myrlie Evers AND most recently the innocence of Christine Taylor Young of Tucson. I believe all things are possible, and I'm inspired by Helen Keller's words: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." Greatest impact on my life: Dr. Albert Schweitzer and his philosophy of "reverence for life." |
