| Introduction | Hi, I love to garden for the color, beauty and smell, but some plants just require way to much work and WATER. That's why I am turning to Xeriscape gardening. I want to be enviornmentally friendly and one step I am taking is to think about what I am planting and how much water it is going to take. I live in the southwest corner of Colorado and it is considered high desert. So the last thing I want to do is plant water guzzeling plants, but I still want a beautiful garden. I want plants and trees that are native to my area and other areas that are similar in soil and temperatures. Believe me, we get all four seasons here. Summers are hot and windy in the day and cool at night, winters are cold. So plants here have to be adaptable. |
