Introduction	My name is Joan Carter Roberts.I was born and grew up in Toronto but have lived my adult life since 1942 in Montreal. In 2009 I wrote the story of my life in a book with the title "Joan and Goodridge: My life With Goodgride Roberts". It was publishedby Vehicule Press and sells for $19.95 plus tax. It can be purchased at major bookstores or athe the bookstore of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Roberts is a well-known Canadian artist, lived from 1904-74 and was my second husband until hia death in 1974. His work is in all the major Canadian museums including the National Gallery of Canada. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Montreal and at the Art Students League in New York wuth John Sloan, Max Weber and Boardman Robinson. There he deeloped his ideas and approach to painting which is demonstrated in the reproductions in this blog. With three others he was Canada's first representative ar the Venice Biennale in 1952 and subsequently was awarded the Medal of Officer of the Order of Canada.
