| Introduction | I was not a soldier in the U.S. Army, but I’m the son of a proudly retired First Sergeant. I was actually born in Hanau in 1962 while my dad served with another engineer company. My father was the 1SGT of the 516th Engineer Company (Panel Bridge) from 1973-1976 and it was, in my opinion, the most meaningful military tour he had in his more than 24 years of service. I accompanied my father to the 2006 and 2007 reunions of this proud military company and was immediately taken in as one of the family. I have begun this blog as my part to help reunion attendees share information and also to hopefully bring together any other soldiers who would like to gather and share their memories. |
